The technique stems from doing double (or sometimes more) takes of the same vocal in a recording session. By treating each vocal track differently, you can achieve vocal layers that add emotion and pack more of a punch with different panning and effects.

But doing multiple recording is time-consuming. It’s much easier to do it in post-processing – right in your DAW.

That’s where a free plugin like Vocal Doubler comes in.

With an intuitive, clean interface, doubling your vocals to perfection has never been easier. Simply drag the slider up and down for stereo separation or left and right for human variation.

 If you’re wondering how far you can push your vocal track this plugin will do a great job letting you know.

Using a step-style sequencer the A1 Trigger Gate packs in a boat load of cool effects. It’s good for all sorts of stuff. So grab it and start experimenting.

In the last decade it was a very popular producing style in all the dance
music genres to have at least one 'rhythmic gated' sound in almost
every production. Nowadays this powerful production technigue for
achieving more rhythmic dynamics got its revival in house music,
dubstep, trap, hip-hop and even pop tracks.

 

Pattern Sequence

Each section of step length buttons & step volume faders represents
one beat of your pattern sequence. You can choose between
'NoStep', 'ShortStep, 'LongStep' and 'StepLink' by simply pressing
a step length button. Each beat consists of 4 steps (1/16 notes in
'Normal Mode') or 3 steps (1/8T notes in 'Triplet Mode') and each
step has its own step volume fader above to dial in its relative level.

 
Integrated FX

The integrated FX (Lowpass Filter, Drive/Distortion and Echo/Delay)
are designed as easy as possible. No vast amounts of parameters to
dial in to get the desired effect on your sound. Simply turn it on and
tweak it a little and you're ready to go !

 The DC1A is a nifty little character compressor by Klanghelm. It uses sophisticated compression settings and an easy 2 knob setup that has you covered “from smooth levelling to heavy pumping.”

DC1A is the little brother of the compression monster DC8C. I've taken a few of my favorite settings from DC8C and tried to make it work in a two control context. Sound wise it's comparable to the PUNCH mode in DC8C but offers a few additional features, such as negative ratio and stereo unlink. I've always wanted to do a compressor with just an input and output knob, a compressor that just works: gentle, faithful, from almost invisible, smooth leveling to heavy pumping with a nice crunchy saturation and punchy enough to treat drums with.
DC1A looks like a one trick pony. But don't get fooled by the lack of additional controls. You may be surprised on how many different material this little thing works. DC1A has a few tricks up its sleeve: negative (over) compression, parallel (New York style) compression, option to compress left and right channel independently (via the DUAL MONO switch), peak and RMS compression (RELAXED switch on) and DEEP activates a high pass filter to reduce pumping on bass heavy material

Ever recorded an entire vocal only to realize you had the mic in the wrong spot? No sweat.

The Vladg and Tokyo Dawn Proximity lets you change the mic placement AFTER you record. Pretty useful and pretty cool.

Proximity is a collaborative effort by Tokyo Dawn Labs and Vladg Sound.

The plug-in is an easy to use distance “pan-pot” based on several psycho-acoustic models. The idea is to give mixing engineer a reliable tool which allows him to manipulate the “depth” of several sound source in a straight forward and convincing manner.

Several models can be combined:

• Distance signal delay by speed of sound
• Distance gain loss
• Absorption of high-frequencies in air
• Stereo width manipulation
• Proximity effect of virtual microphone
• Distance based early reflections

All models can be turned on and off to taste. Distance modulation options extend the creative possibilities even further. Units can be switched from metric (meters) to imperial (inches).
